Lighthouse Parent Committment Agreements

In order to offer students an enriched curriculum, each family involved in Lighthouse Cooperative commits to the following:

1. Classroom Time Commitment: Each family must work one shift (up to three hours) in the classroom every week for each child enrolled in Lighthouse Cooperative. If you are unable to work on your scheduled workday, you must find a substitute for yourself for your scheduled workday. Failure to work on your scheduled day will lead to noncompliance correspondence being sent to your home and may lead to your family being asked not to return the next school year.

2. Field Trips: Each family commits to participate on at least one field trips per year, per child.

3. Committees: Each family commits to participate on one Committee per child's classroom. (for example: Field Trip Coordinator, Cooking Committee, Art Committee, etc). Serving on the Lighthouse Board fulfills this committee requirement.

4. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY AT BOTH SESSIONS (general & classroom) OF ALL PARENT MEETINGS by at least one parent per family (or family representative - which may not be another Lighthouse parent). The parent meetings are usually on the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm. The parent coordinator for each class shall record parent attendance. In the event of an emergency, contact your parent coordinator to discuss your absence prior to the parent meeting. Failure to attend parent meetings will lead to noncompliance correspondence being sent to your home and may lead to your family being asked not to return the next school year.

5. Lighthouse Cooperative Directory: Lighthouse will publish a directory for the exclusive use of Lighthouse associated business. Members agree to hold this information confidential, and will not use it for non-Lighthouse purposes. By signing below, you hereby grant permission to have the following information published in the directory: Parent names, student names, student classes, home address, home phone number, and e-mail address.

6. Donations and Fundraising: The Lighthouse budget for classroom enrichment is dependent on parent contributions. Lighthouse asks for a donation of $25 dollars per month per child. This donation will be collected at each parent meeting. Lighthouse has an annual auction in order to reach its financial goals. Each family is expected to procure item(s) worth at least $50 per child in Lighthouse. A "buy out" option is available upon request.

7. Procedure for non-compliance with attendance requirements: Parent participation is the heart of Lighthouse and enrollment in the program is contingent upon such. Failure to attend your classroom work shift and/or failure to attend parent and classroom meetings will result in noncompliance correspondence being sent to your home and may lead to your family being asked not to return the next school year.

8. Everett Public Schools volunteer application: To volunteer at the school you need to fill out an application through the district. The application can be found at https://www.everettsd.org/volunteer and it is good for three years.
